Google Analytics

Google Analytics is a free web analytics service that provides statistics and basic analytical tools for search engine optimization and marketing purposes.

It is a  service offered by google that tracks and reports website traffic. Google that enables Web masters and site owners to freely access Web analytics data. It tracks visitors through your site and also tracks of the performance of your marketing campaigns.

 Measuring campaigns in Google Analytics enables the attribution of campaigns and traffic sources to user activity within your application. These options are available for campaign and traffic source attribution in the Google Analytics.
  • Track your Goals: Website conversions & user activity

 The Google Analytics goal feature tracks the most critical metric: conversions, (really, any activity or behavior you want your website visitors to do). It could be filling out a form, requesting a product demo, signing up for your email list, completing a purchase.
  • Audience reports

 Audience reports offer a much more colorful picture of your customers, from demographics and geographical location to interests and key browsing behaviors. Audience reports give you more direct, actionable insights than you would be able to gather using your own server data.
  •  Flow visualization

It means that you will be able to acquire a better understanding on how to track a visitor’s progression on your site. Flow Visualization lets the Google Analytics user view web site traffic with a graphical representation on how your users are accessing your web site and how it converts traffic into visits.

1. Life time value: It track through out their visit to conversion,return visit,etc. this help to figure out what turned those visitors in to customers. 
2. Active Users: It calculates how many visitors are active on your site with in a specific period of time period, week, month etc. This also will show what pages the most active users are visiting.
3.Keyword: It tells what search word are used visitors to reach in your site on a search engine.
4. Landing page: It shows which pages are the most important and frequently visited. So you can understand what's attracting customers.
5.Acquisition: It shows where the traffic come from such as search engine, social media, etc.You can find it through acquisition tab.
6. Conversions: It track how many visitors are converting in to news letter subscribers, shoppers  etc. Choose the type or category of conversion to view a report.

Steps for use Google Analytics for tacking the website


1. From your Google account sign in to Google Analytics.
2. From the bottom left sidebar of your dashboard click the admin button.
3. Create an account.
4. Click on the drop down menu to create a property.
5. Click on the website option and add your sites name and URL.
6. Choose industry and time zone.
7. Click on Get Tracking ID.
8. Install tracking id on your website.
9. Paste tracking id in the analytics and web property of other option of the blogger.
10. Paste tracking code in the theme section of the blog.
11. Save the Theme.

Google webmaster tools is really valuable instrument for seo.
It gives you at a glance data about all important seo aspects of a site, such as keywords,links,crawl errors etc.

Google webmaster tools is also known as search console is a no charge web service by google for webmasters. It allows webmasters to check indexing status and optimize visibility of their websites and communicate with google.

Six ways to use webmaster tools  to improve your on page seo

1.Sitemaps

It is an opportunity to tell google and other search engines what pages on your site you want to be crawled and indexed. For large site or sites with frequently updated content,a site map is pretty important.

2.Structured Data

Google search works had to understand the content of the page. you can help us by providing explicit clues about the meaning of the page to google by including structured data on the page. It is a standardized format for providing information about a page and classifying the page content. Google uses structured data that if finds on the web to understand the content of the page.It also uses to enable special search features and enhancements.

3.Content keyword

Content keyword in webmaster tools is kind of a reflection of what google thinks about your website in terms of keyword. It is the list of words Google thinks are related to your website and this list can be very useful. The keywords that are used on your site, along with keyword variations and significance. These data help you quickly determine if you need more content created around certain keywords, themes and topics. It also shows which pages the keywords appear on.

4.Crawl Info

crawl stats gives the general overview of google bot activities, ie, how many pages it's been crawling and indexing for the last 90 days.
Crawl Errors will identify site or URL errors that might be present.

5.HTML Improvements

This is where Search Console will recommend any improvements to your meta descriptions and title tags, as well as informing you of any non indexable content. Google is such a powerful player in the market,   If Google has an HTML Improvements section, then this should most likely be taken seriously, and the improvement suggestions from Google should most definitely be considered or completed.
The new HTML improvements section breaks down noticeable improvements you can make to your site for Search Engine Visibility.  Some of these improvements include:

6.Sitelinks

Sitelinks  are links to a site’s interior pages displayed on a Google search results page. Not all sites have sitelinks, but as you grow in popularity you’ll naturally get them. Google generates these links automatically, but you can remove sitelinks you don’t want.

Verifying the website using webmaster tools

1.Search google.com/ webmaster/tool.
2.Home screen will appear,click on a Add a property.
3.Copy the URL which you want to fetch and paste in the text field appearing and click the add button.
4.Select crawl option from the left panel and select fetch as google. here we are requesting google to fetch our page.
5.similarly to fetch a post we need to copy rest of the URL and paste it in to text field and click fetch

It is to all measures that can be taken directly with in the website to improve search rankings. On-page SEO is the practice of optimizing individual web pages in order to rank higher and earn more relevant traffic in search engines. On-page refers to both the content and HTML source code of a page that can be optimized, as opposed to off-page SEO which refers to links and other external signals.

1. Title

 Title is highly important for attracting the users attention and increasing the page CTR (Click Through Rate). The users will see our title on the SERP and if they don't like it, they will most probably not read our article. So title is very important role in seo pages.Google display 55-60 characters of a title tag. So we are careful for limiting the characters around this range. It's pixel width at 512. The limiting characters and pixels are the major factor in helping search engines understand what your page is about. Title tag is used in three key places;
1. Search engine result page
2. Web browsers
3. Social networks 
Here some tips to remember when writing your title
  • Don't use too short and long titles,keep titles about 55-60 characters.
  • The tittle should be apt for the content of the page.
  • Title should be simple, meaningful and impressive.

2. Meta Description

It is a snippet of up to 320 characters, a tag in html that summarizes a page's content. Search engines show the meta description in search result mostly when the searched for phrase is contained in the description. It varies between 155-160 characters. Meta description has large impact on CTR on google.Following are the tips for writing your meta description,
  • It must be unique.
  • place your keyword towards the beginning of the meta title if possible. 
  • The content on the page can be similar to the meta descrption.
  • It must be very impressive and relevant.

3.Body Section Optimization

Google has put more and more importance on authoritative content. so we should ensure that webpage are full of as much detail about the topic of the page. Here some tips for writing your content,
  •  focus on your 2-3 primary keyword with in the body content and use variations in order to keep it reading naturally and expand the possibilities of your target customer.
  • It should include only one h1 in one page, subheadings, minor heading, can be given using h2 and h3.Link to other pages on your website from the body content. 

4.Keyword Optimization

It is the act of research analyzing and selecting the best keyword to target  to drive qualified traffic from search engines to your website. A website that is well optimized for search engines speaks the same language as it's potential visitor base with keyword for seo that help connect searchers to your site.

5.Keyword Density

It was a common seo practice used to ensure that your most repeated word and longer phrases were the actual keyword that you are focusing on. It can potentially lead to over optimization penalties or ranking demotions in search engines.

6.Image Optimization

Search engines can't read images. however search engines can read "alt tags" and "image title tags" which are part of image code. While these image tags are not a major ranking factor,every little bit helps and they will increase your chances of driving traffic from google image search.

7.Authorship Optimization

Authorship Optimization or Editorial power is the way of article authors to connect with google profile to their published content to create ownership.
