Google Analytics

Google Analytics is a free web analytics service that provides statistics and basic analytical tools for search engine optimization and marketing purposes.

It is a  service offered by google that tracks and reports website traffic. Google that enables Web masters and site owners to freely access Web analytics data. It tracks visitors through your site and also tracks of the performance of your marketing campaigns.

  • Campaign Measurement: Traffic

 Measuring campaigns in Google Analytics enables the attribution of campaigns and traffic sources to user activity within your application. These options are available for campaign and traffic source attribution in the Google Analytics.
  • Track your Goals: Website conversions & user activity

 The Google Analytics goal feature tracks the most critical metric: conversions, (really, any activity or behavior you want your website visitors to do). It could be filling out a form, requesting a product demo, signing up for your email list, completing a purchase.
  • Audience reports

 Audience reports offer a much more colorful picture of your customers, from demographics and geographical location to interests and key browsing behaviors. Audience reports give you more direct, actionable insights than you would be able to gather using your own server data.
  •  Flow visualization

It means that you will be able to acquire a better understanding on how to track a visitor’s progression on your site. Flow Visualization lets the Google Analytics user view web site traffic with a graphical representation on how your users are accessing your web site and how it converts traffic into visits.

 Types of reports in google analytics


1. Life time value: It track through out their visit to conversion,return visit,etc. this help to figure out what turned those visitors in to customers. 
2. Active Users: It calculates how many visitors are active on your site with in a specific period of time period, week, month etc. This also will show what pages the most active users are visiting.
3.Keyword: It tells what search word are used visitors to reach in your site on a search engine.
4. Landing page: It shows which pages are the most important and frequently visited. So you can understand what's attracting customers.
5.Acquisition: It shows where the traffic come from such as search engine, social media, etc.You can find it through acquisition tab.
6. Conversions: It track how many visitors are converting in to news letter subscribers, shoppers  etc. Choose the type or category of conversion to view a report.

Steps for use Google Analytics for tacking the website


1. From your Google account sign in to Google Analytics.
2. From the bottom left sidebar of your dashboard click the admin button.
3. Create an account.
4. Click on the drop down menu to create a property.
5. Click on the website option and add your sites name and URL.
6. Choose industry and time zone.
7. Click on Get Tracking ID.
8. Install tracking id on your website.
9. Paste tracking id in the analytics and web property of other option of the blogger.
10. Paste tracking code in the theme section of the blog.
11. Save the Theme.
